Last week Brook House Care Home celebrated with a festive event to mark their official opening and switching on of their Christmas tree lights.

The children from Nicholas Hawksmoor Primary School treated staff, residents, families, and friends to a wonderful range of Christmas carols, as the home were finally able to mark their official launch.

Brook House opened its doors in October 2020. However, due to delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the home did not have the opportunity to celebrate its official launch until now.

Group Commercial Director Mark Danis welcomed all to the official launch of Brook House, highlighting the home’s award-winning design achievements since opening, and praising the hardworking team who have helped to make the Home such a success.

Brook House was named winner of the Best Innovation and Environmental award in the prestigious Pinders 2022 Healthcare Design Awards for its thoughtful approach to the needs of its residents. The home was also shortlisted as a finalist at the 2022 National Care Awards in the Care Home Design category.

Rated as Good in every category on its first Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, the home also has a remarkable score of 9.7 out of ten on review website carehome.co.uk, from reviews purely from resident’s families about the quality of care and resident services.

Before switching on the Christmas lights, guest of honour Howard Winfield of the Towcester Rotary Club gave a short speech, saying, We believe in strong links with the community, and the team and residents at Brook House are certainly one of them. We are proud to be connected with Brook House and we wish them all the success, as we continue to support them however we can.”

Other guests included volunteers from Brook House’s monthly Dementia Cafe as well as relatives of residents and others connected with the home from the Towcester area. Everyone enjoyed the delightful singing of the school choir as well as homemade festive cakes by the home’s head chef.

Brook House provides residential care and dementia care on a permanent or respite basis. For more information or to arrange a tour of the home call the friendly team on 0808 169 8662.
