Residents, relatives and team members at Bradbury House Care Home in Braintree supported the Wear it Pink fundraiser for Breast Cancer Now with pink clothes, pink cakes, and pink everything!
The activities team gave the home a makeover with posters, balloons and bunting and everyone got dressed up in their best pink outfits. The gentlemen were at a loss for anything pink in their wardrobes, however, the team were well prepared and brought out some fabulous pink wigs for them and they were more than happy to get in the spirit!
Residents put their baking skills to great use, making delicious pink butter cream cupcakes and Victoria sponge cakes to sell for the fundraiser.
Activities coordinator, Laura, received the full Wear it Pink package from Breast Cancer Now who are fantastic at providing all the resources for a successful fundraiser and a fun day for everyone. This included posters, a donation box, decorations and games like ‘Guess the cake weight’ and sweepstake.
Laura presented the cakes beautifully on stands and everyone loved them, praising the residents’ baking skills and making their donations, raising £20 – another great day for the Bradbury House family.
