The residents and team at Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton got in the festive spirit together for the much-awaited Christmas Day lunch, a cherished annual tradition at the home.
Cosy in their Christmas jumpers, everyone gathered around the dining tables, beautifully dressed by the hospitality team in festive décor with crackers.
A scrumptious festive feast was served by the kitchen, offering roast turkey or beef, complemented by pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, and a delightful Christmas pudding for dessert.
The highlight of the day was the exciting raffle draws, with 25 prizes for residents and 30 prizes for staff. Winners were chosen during the celebration, adding a fun and competitive spirit to the event.
Residents and staff also sang classic Christmas carols and Home Manager Arthur hosted a fun Christmas-themed quiz.
The festivities were not only a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day but a lovely reminder of the warm community spirit at Belmont House. Resident Bill shared some heartwarming words about the occasion, “I am so happy that I am here. I feel at home and safe. I am now feeling much better and able to talk to other people. Celebrating Christmas with everyone is truly special!”
