An Afternoon of Music, Cream Teas, and Community Spirit
The residents, their families, and visitors came together at Riverside Place for a heart-warming fundraising event, inspired by an Aria Care directive to support meaningful causes. The day was filled with laughter, conversation, and the unmistakable aroma of freshly baked scones, courtesy of the talented Catering Team.
In the afternoon, guests were treated to the dulcet tones of Johnny, whose performance had toes tapping and smiles all round. Cream teas were served throughout the day, with “posh cups and saucers” adding an extra touch of elegance — much to resident Eva’s delight, who shared, “I’ve had a lovely day, winning on the tombola and I love the posh cups and saucers.”
The Wellbeing Team, led by Lyn and Sally, had been busy in the run-up to the event, gathering a wonderful selection of items for sale and for the ever-popular tombola. The clothes sale proved a big draw, while the tombola had many walking away with treasured prizes.
A highlight of the afternoon was the visit from Charlotte Griggs, the local representative of Marie Curie, who spent time speaking with residents and guests about the important work the charity undertakes. Her warmth and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated by all.
It was a day that truly reflected Aria Care’s values of kindness, community, and making every moment matter — leaving everyone with happy memories and a sense of shared achievement.
