Brook House Nursing Home in New Malden recently opened its doors to mark Care Home Open Week – and the sunshine came out to celebrate with them.
Each day brought a chance to enjoy the fresh air, with regular activities like balloon tennis, sing-alongs, reading, dominos and gardening all moving outside to make the most of the warm weather. There were plenty of ice lollies and drink breaks to help everyone stay cool and refreshed, and they set up a gazebo for some welcome shade thanks to help from the maintenance team.
One of the highlights of the week was a relaxed morning in the garden with fresh fruit, coffee and pastries – a lovely way to catch up and enjoy each other’s company. Later in the week, they welcomed Mindi, whose fantastic performance filled the lounge with music and energy. They rounded things off with a Burns Gym session, which is always a firm favourite with residents.
It was a joy to see residents getting involved and enjoying the atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit – and to Brook House’s brilliant team, whose efforts made the week so special!
