Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton is taking the opportunity to celebrate their senior nurse, Marissa, ahead of Care Home Open Week — where they’re inviting the community to meet both their residents and team. Known for her warmth and kindness, Marissa’s impact is so special that the team has affectionately coined it “the Marissa effect!”
If you’ve ever walked through the doors of Belmont House and felt an immediate sense of warmth and family, chances are… you’ve felt that very effect. Marissa has been part of the Belmont family since August 2016, and as she says herself, “For the longest time until today, I still feel happy and excited coming to work.”
As Senior Nurse leading the Nursing Unit, Marissa’s calm, skilled, and caring leadership shines through, guiding a team that delivers exceptional palliative and frailty care. The unit has become a beacon of comfort and excellence, praised by families and the Sutton Multi-Disciplinary Team alike.
“It’s the shared love, care, knowledge, and skills of the whole Belmont team that makes it possible,” Marissa shares humbly.
Of course, nursing isn’t always easy. “There are ups and downs,” Marissa admits, “but I never worry. I know I have the full support of my colleagues and the management.” At Belmont House, the team faces challenges together, supported by ongoing training, honest reflections, and a true sense of community.
During Care Home Open Week, Belmont House warmly invites the community to visit, meet their team, residents, and families, and discover the genuine care and welcoming spirit that makes it feel like home. To speak to a member of their team and find out more, call 020 8015 4568.
