Brook House marks 80 years since VE Day

VE day brook house

The Brook House community recently came together to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day – the end of conflict in Europe and a significant moment in British history.

The day offered a chance to reflect on the courage, resilience and unity of those who helped shape the country during the war. In the weeks leading up to the anniversary, residents took part in arts and crafts sessions to create handmade VE Day posters and bunting, decorating the home with a personal and meaningful touch.

The celebrations included a traditional tea party, with classic wartime music setting the scene.

Residents Beryl, Joan and Josephine shared moving memories from that day in 1945, recalling where they were and how they felt when they heard the news that the war was finally over.

It was a heartfelt day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude at Brook House.
