Last week, the residents and team at Kings Lodge Nursing Home in Chichester came together to transform their garden for Aria in Bloom.
Joined by family members, everyone rolled up their sleeves to give the garden a makeover in preparation for summer. Residents were eager to get involved by planting new flowers, refreshing old beds, and even creating a brand-new herb patch. The greenhouse also saw plenty of activity, with new vegetables sprouting thanks to everyone’s hard work.
But the week wasn’t just about digging and planting. Creativity was also in full swing, with residents taking part in painting projects to brighten garden features and plant pots.
To mark the end of the week, the wonderful kitchen team prepared a delicious cake, which residents joyfully decorated using real edible flowers. They then gathered for a sensory herbal tea morning, enjoying fragrant mint-infused tea, local honey, and of course, a generous slice of the floral cake.
Home manager Sajila Mano said, “A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the families who kindly donated their loved ones’ favourite flowers for us to plant. These thoughtful contributions added a deeply personal and meaningful touch to our gardens.”
