Aria Care is celebrating after two of its dedicated team members have been shortlisted at the 2025 Dementia Care Awards. This achievement highlights the group’s unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding dementia care.
Dementia Wellbeing Manager Michele Saunders has been nominated for the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Dementia award. With over a decade of experience in the sector, Michele has been instrumental in shaping Aria’s approach to dementia care. She is the driving force behind the recently launched Living With Heart, Loving With Care dementia strategy, which has set new standards across all communities. Her visionary leadership continues to influence and elevate the quality of life for residents, while empowering teams to deliver care with compassion and expertise.
Also shortlisted is Christopher Irorita, Dementia Lead Nurse at Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton, who has been recognised for his innovative and compassionate approach to dementia care. Christopher’s leadership has created a culture of dignity, empathy, and continuous improvement within the home. His hands-on support and meaningful changes have significantly enhanced daily life for residents living with dementia, while offering reassurance to families and strengthening his team’s confidence and capabilities.
The Dementia Care Awards celebrate excellence in the sector, recognising individuals and teams who are making a profound impact on the lives of those living with dementia.
Winners will be announced at the official awards ceremony in June.
