Staff from Walstead Place Care Home Celebrating their positive CQC result, holding up their CQC banner

We’re thrilled to announce that Walstead Place, our luxury care home in Haywards Heath has received glowing feedback from both inspectors and residents in its recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report for the fifth time!

This year, in addition to being rated ‘Good’ in four areas, the home also achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating for being well-led. The home provides residential care for up to 43 residents.

The positive report came thanks to the home’s ability to deliver a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service to residents. Our brilliant team was commended for demonstrating an excellent commitment to enabling people to live well and grow old with dignity.”

The CQC report commended Walstead in its overall summary and noted that effective systems promoted residents’ health and improved their wellbeing, happiness and independence.

Relatives of residents also praised the home, stating: “I honestly can’t fault the home. My relative gets treated so well, she’s very happy and there are so many great activities.”

Jacquie Ferguson, home manager at Walstead Place, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the results of our recent CQC report. The whole team has worked so hard to ensure the action plan dedicated to achieving this rating was enforced and that shows in this fantastic result.

“We would like to thank our care team, wider workforce and our residents and their families for their continued support and feedback. We will strive to continue to deliver a positive care service and one that has our residents at its heart.”

Inspectors noted that Walstead Place recognised people’s diversity and they had policies in place which highlighted the importance of treating everyone equally, stating, “People’s equality and diversity was respected. Staff adapted their approach to meet individualised needs and preferences. People were supported with kindness and compassion.”

The CQC also reported that care plans highlighted the importance of promoting independence and observed staff treating people with dignity and respect. One resident commented, “Staff are very respectful, they treat me very well.”
