The residents and team at Stowford House Care Home in Abingdon enjoyed a wonderful week of activities and events for Care Home Open Week. The week is an annual event that encourages care homes to open their doors to the public, showcasing the services they offer and is an opportunity to form and develop local community connections.
Everyone at the home had an absolute blast celebrating the week with a fun dress-up day inspired by the 1930s, 1950s and 1970s. Followed by a visit by children from Carswell School for a fun intergenerational day . The week of celebrations was brought to a close on Friday with a visit from the mayor of Abingdon Mayor, Cllr Rawda Jehanli and the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Andrew Skinner who were welcomed to the home and took the opportunity to meet the residents and team. Everyone had a fantastic time and the mayor kindly mentioned they would like to visit the home again perhaps around Christmas, something everyone at the home is looking forward to!
