The residents at Stowford House Care Home in Abingdon had a heartwarming visit this week from the children at Manor School, Abingdon. Since April the residents have been exchanging heartfelt letters, cherished memories and wonderful stories with their young pen pals, this beautiful intergenerational project has built bridges across generations, sparking meaningful conversations and unexpected friendships.
This week, the residents had the absolute joy of welcoming the children to the home for the very first time. It was a truly emotional moment to see the pen pals meet face to face after months of writing.
The children brought along thoughtful handmade gifts they had made, which were received with great delight by the residents. The joy and connection shared during the visit was truly special as they spent time together, both the residents and children enjoyed every minute.
Everyone at Stowford House are thrilled to announce that this wonderful project will continue through to September and are looking forward to seeing what new stories and friendships will blossom next!
