Standing Together in Pink at Southborough

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, the Southborough Way

October has been a truly memorable month at Southborough, filled with warmth, unity and a shared commitment to making a difference. The community proudly stood together in pink to support the remarkable work of Breast Cancer Now and their inspiring Wear It Pink campaign. From thoughtful daily activities right through to our vibrant community events, wearing pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month offered a simple yet powerful way to show solidarity, spark conversations, and help raise vital funds for a cause close to many hearts.

In true Aria Care spirit, residents, team members, families and friends gathered to celebrate togetherness, compassion and hope. The home was awash with shades of pink as everyone came dressed for the occasion, creating a joyful and uplifting atmosphere. A highlight of the day was a lively sing-along featuring the incredibly talented jazz singer Tracey O’Connor, whose soulful performance had the whole room swaying, smiling and singing along. It was a wonderful moment of connection – a reminder of the joy that shared experiences can bring.

By choosing to wear pink and openly discussing breast health, the Southborough community embraced the importance of awareness and encouraged one another to stay informed and vigilant. Supporting wellbeing – emotional and physical – sits at the heart of Aria Care’s values, and this event beautifully reflected the power of community in promoting healthier, more connected lives.

For those wishing to continue supporting the cause, there is information available via the link in our bio, including ways to donate and useful resources from Breast Cancer Now on staying breast-aware and promoting early detection. Together, through kindness and awareness, we really can make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, took part, dressed in pink and joined in our jazz celebration. Your enthusiasm and generosity made this event truly special, and your support means so much to all of us at Southborough.
