Riverside Place Care Home Raft Race Team

Riverside Place Care Home has recently seen several of its team participate in a community raft race and take home the winning trophy.

Run and organised by Ware Town Council, on Saturday 9th of July, crowds of the local community gathered to watch the Annual Raft Race which started at the Town Quay. All teams taking part, had 30 minutes to create their raft before taking to the water and paddling to the bridge and back.

Taking part for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, staff members and supporters of Riverside Place took part in the friendly raft race, which saw the home walk away with the winning trophy in the adult category.

Riverside Place, home manager, Edwin Cabagui, said: “Since not being able to compete for the last two years, it has been a real joy getting out and about and integrating our residents back into the local community.

“Our residents love these sorts of events, and it is safe to say that the day was full of non-stop laughter, it was a really wonderful day. We already have the trophy standing tall in all its glory in our home and our residents have already mentioned to the staff that they can’t wait for next year to watch them retain the title.”
