The residents and team at Riverside Place Care Home joined hundreds of people across the country as they hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds to support those affected by cancer.
A host of sweet treats and hot beverages were on offer for all to enjoy as family and friends joined everyone at the home to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. There were a number of cakes to enjoy which were made by the chefs at the home and also live entertainment from local singer Suzie to mark the event.
The home often hosts fundraising activities for charitable organisations and hosting a coffee morning is one of the many ways they achieve this. Coffee mornings were also held at a number of other homes across the aria care Group.
The friends and family who came along said how wonderful it was to be able to come along and enjoy the lovely sweet treats.
Home manager Edwin Cabagui said: “We think the Macmillan Coffee Morning is a great way to raise funds in the fight against cancer.
“It’s been wonderful to see so many people come together to have fun over a piece of cake and a cup of tea or coffee, all while raising much needed funds.”
As a result of the event the home has raised £100 – well done Team Riverside Place!
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning took place in 1990 and since then, the event has raised over £290 million.
In 2021, the charity raised over £11 million and they hope to be able to top that this year.
