It’s a century of memories, laughter, and joy as Beryl Payne, a much-loved resident of Priory Court Care Home in Epsom, celebrated her 100th birthday.
Beryl, who has lived at Priory Court since March 2023, spent the special day surrounded by love, music, and cheer. Beryl was treated to a musical performance from local entertainer Natty Bee, a stunning birthday cake crafted by Head Chef Jerome, and visits from her devoted family.
She was especially delighted to receive her birthday card from the King and Queen — a moment she cherished deeply. Her birthday celebrations continued over the weekend with a special outing with her loved ones.
Known for her warmth and cheerful spirit, Beryl enjoys a range of activities at the care home including arts and crafts, flower arranging, word games, and colouring. “To keep happy and to be as independent as possible” is Beryl’s inspiring secret to her long and fulfilling life.
Beryl spent her working years as an office worker and now takes great pleasure in reminiscing about her childhood, especially fond memories of family get-togethers at the allotments.
Home Manager Rommel Villanueva shared, “Beryl is a delightful lady who is always friendly and has a smile for everyone. Beryl has made friends with other residents, and it is a joy to see her happy and joining in with activities.”
