At Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home in Farmoor we understand the importance of supporting residents to maintain links with their local communities. That’s why we play an active part in our community. We hold events throughout the year, and work closely with groups, schools and charities to ensure residents continue to enjoy a rewarding social life, and the chance to make new friends and try new things.
Our aim is to put a focus on the community. We want to boost morale and encourage neighbourly togetherness as well as to improve health and wellbeing in the district. Below are details of our upcoming events:

Dementia Friendly Cinema
Date: Third Thursday of every month
Time: 2:30pm
Meet with likeminded people and build a support network.
This event takes place at Wytham House in the Cinema Room. Wytham House Care Home is situated within the Oaken Holt Estate.

Date: First weekday of the month
Time: 11am – 12:30pm
A community focused event, which brings together residents and the local community for a chat and cup of tea or coffee.

Become a Dementia Friend
Date: Wednesday 13th August
Time: 10am – 12:00pm
An opportunity for attendees to learn more about supporting loved ones living with dementia.

Funeral Planning
Date: Wednesday 20th August
Time: 6:30pm – 8pm
Local funeral directors Oliver & James will offer their expert advice and guidance on how to tackle this important topic.
