Mill House raises money for local hospice

On Saturday 14th September, Mill House Care Home in Chipping Campden held a fundraiser to raise money for local hospice Campden Home Nursing.

Founded in 1990 by Jecca Brook, Campden Home Nursing is a local charity that provides free hospice care to those who wish to be cared for at home. They also offer bereavement and support groups for patients, their families, and carers.

Throughout the day, there was a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, games, stalls (including scarfs made by a relative in honour of her husband living with dementia at Mill House), face painting, a tombola (which was created by one of our residents during his visits to Campden Home Nursing’s Men in Sheds sessions). They were also joined by The Good Day Farm, Chipping Camden Morris Dancers, the local Brownies group, Scuttlebrook May Queen, and her page boy.

Home Manager Stacey and Administrator Robyn organised a fantastic day to raise money for such a good cause. All the team, residents, and friends had a lovely time and managed to raise £588.55. Robyn said, “I had so much fun organising this event, I’m so pleased it was such a success.”

Finance Director Anna from Campden Home Nursing commented, “I just wanted to say thank you so much for raising that amount for us! It is fantastic. I have heard great feedback about the day and your lovely gardens. Thank you so much from all of us here at Campden Home Nursing, we really appreciate your support.”
