Mill House Care Home in Chipping Campden are celebrating after winning two awards and being highly commended at the prestigious Great British Care Awards.
Senior Carer Rasheed Pilgrim took home the ‘Dementia Carer Award’ and Hospitality Manager Paul Dixon won the ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ in the South West region.
Rasheed was recognised for his outstanding skills needed to manage and deliver services sensitive to the needs of people with dementia.
The judges presented Paul with his award for his long-term outstanding contribution to social care.
In addition, Louise Voss, Activity Coordinator, was highly commended in the ‘Dignity in Care Award’.
Rasheed and Paul’s regional wins means they have now been automatically shortlisted as a finalist in the national competition, which will take place in March 2024.
Paul Dixon expressed his joy for the outcome, “The win for both Louise and Rasheed demonstrated how passionate and experienced the team at Mill house are in dementia care. And to have won the Outstanding Contribution award is truly humbling. My manager and Aria Care allow you to think outside the box, to try new things and genuinely listen to your suggestions which enabled me to thrive in the industry, and to hopefully in some small way make a difference to others.”
Rasheed added, “I was delighted and shocked to have won this award. The training I have received from Aria Care has been second to none.”
Louise was thrilled to be recognised, “I am thrilled to received this recognition, it is down to the mentoring and training that I have been able to succeed.”
The Great British Care Awards is a nationwide celebration of excellence in the care sector, recognising and rewarding the outstanding achievements of individuals, teams, and organisations across the UK. The awards quickly grew to become one of the most prestigious events in the care industry, attracting entries from care providers of all sizes and disciplines.
