Residents and staff at Mill House Care Home are celebrating after a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection saw their rating remain as ‘Good’ in the areas of the inspection – safe, effective, caring and responsive.
Praised for its ‘supportive’ environment, while relatives felt their loved ones were ‘safe living at Mill House’, in the report, staff were found to be ‘kind and caring’ and always treated residents with ‘dignity and respect’.
It was also highlighted in the inspection that staff support residents ‘in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests’.
Priding themselves on taking the time to listen to the needs of those they care for, relatives praised the care staff, informing inspectors that staff support them in a personalised way, with comments such as: “I think they are lovely” and “The care staff are so kind, very listening”.
In the last few months, Mill House has welcomed their newly appointed home manager, Gary Kent. Since taking on the new role, Gary has a clear vision for Mill House and spoke positively about his visions for continuing to make improvements
