Kippingtons Community Shines Bright
The residents, their families and staff at Kippingtons Nursing Home were delighted to receive a special visitor to their home on Tuesday the 4th of November. The Town Mayor of Sevenoaks, Councillor Tony Clayton, graced their doors to take afternoon tea with the residents, where he learned about the vibrant community they proudly enjoy.
The Mayor was taken on a tour of the home, where he was shown the varied rooms each resident can reside, each appropriately equipped with the required amenities, suited to their specific needs. As well as the resident’s rooms, he was guided through the various communal rooms and outdoor spaces Kippingtons contain, including dining rooms, hair salon, landscaped gardens and the various lounges, each suited to a resident’s desire for peace or social interaction.
On concluding the tour, Councillor Clayton joined members of Kippingtons community in one of their lounges for a talk by their Dementia Welbeing Coordinator, Michelle Saunders. She guided the mayor through the work she conducts, which aims to improve the lives of the residents living with dementia. Valuable insights were shared, which, among other topics, aimed to show how her role she champions, tackles the challenges she aims to overcome, on behalf of the residents she represents.
Once the talk had finished, the mayor was treated to afternoon tea, where he met with residents, their families and the wonderful team. All members of the Kippingtons community should rightly be proud of the warm and welcoming home the mayor was so excellently shown. We look forward to hearing more from Kippingtons and their vibrant community.
