At Kingsclear Nursing Home in Camberley, we always enjoy finding meaningful (and sometimes tasty!) ways to connect with our local community. For example, to mark Emergency Services Day, our residents and team came together for a very special mission from our recently launched Brew Crew: baking cakes to say a heartfelt “thank you” to the people who work so hard to keep us all safe.
Armed with mixing bowls, plenty of enthusiasm and a generous helping of goodwill, we delivered our homemade treats to several local services, including Camberley Fire Station, Yateley Ambulance Service and Park Road GP Practice. Everywhere we went, we were met with warm smiles and a lovely sense of celebration, which made the day even more rewarding.
Our residents took great pride in being involved, from helping with the baking to sharing stories and memories of the emergency services they’ve known and relied on over the years. It was a simple gesture, but one filled with genuine appreciation.
The emergency services show dedication, bravery and compassion every single day. This small act was our way of saying thank you – with cake, of course – for everything they do for our community.
