This month the residents and team at Ivy Court Nursing Home in Norwich welcomed a host of furry friends into their home.
Many of our residents look forward to these visits as not only does it help with improving their health and wellbeing, but everyone learns fun facts about the different animals. During these visits in August, the residents met Evie’s Owls, Bobby (the toy poodle), Boss (the pomeranian), and Wycomb Pastures, who brought along rabbits, tortoises, and guinea pigs.
Animal-assisted therapy is a growing area that uses all types of animals to help people recover or cope better with certain health issues. It has been proven that contact with animals helps depression, loneliness, boredom, and anxiety. Our residents had a wonderful time and can’t wait for their next visits.
