Pathway Ponies visit Hulcott Nursing Home residents

Last week, the residents and team at Hulcott Nursing Home in Aylesbury enjoyed a visit from Pathway Ponies. Arranged and sponsored by Liz Stokes (the daughter of one of the residents), Hulcott welcomed two very friendly Shetland ponies called Darcy and Mouse into their home.

Owned by Carly Flower, Pathway Ponies offers holistic interventions for young people and adults with various challenges, including low confidence, low self-esteem, autism, and ADHD.

A welcomed visit by all, the residents got to stroke the ponies and ask Carly questions about them. Home manager Krasimira Nicolova commented, “we are so grateful for Liz’s kindness and generosity. The residents, relatives, and team all enjoyed this wonderful experience.”

The positive benefits of being around animals are well documented, these visits help to promote mental wellbeing amongst our residents, and it is a great way to bring everyone together.

Hulcott Nursing Home provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call freephone 0808 223 5514.
