Hulcott Nursing Home in Aylesbury recently welcomed friends, family, and the local community to join us for our annual summer party, a BBQ bash with a Hawaiian twist. Our wellbeing lead, Decena, organised the day and our team banded together to give our garden a tropical makeover with inflatable palm trees, mini tikis and Hawaiian backdrops.
Our lovely friends from the local community supported the event with a generous donation, hiring the amazing caterers, Crackling Hog Roasts. The local family company fired up their grill in our garden and treated us to some absolutely mouthwatering crispy crackling, burgers and hotdogs.
Some fantastic entertainers joined us and took stage on our patio, including the talented jazz performers, Jeremy Harmsworth Quartet and the one-man band, Liam King, as well as a Hulcott favourite, Wendy, who sang some classic golden oldies. Residents and their loved ones got up for a dance and some of our team just had to join in for a boogie!
The kids had lots of fun too – kept busy bashing at the pinata to get to the treats inside and cooling off afterwards with some yummy ice cream cones.
One of our visitors commented, “We all had an amazing day – so much fun had by everyone! Thank you all at Hulcott for amazing teamwork – extending our heartfelt gratitude to friends from the local community for having a fantastic Summer BBQ!”
