Intergenerational Summer Creations at Holmwood

Holmwood Scouts Visit

The residents at Holmwood Care Centre in Kidderminster welcomed a visit from their local scout group and enjoyed an afternoon of summer themed arts and crafts.

The residents really enjoyed the intergenerational aspect of the activity and the scouts enjoyed sharing stories with the residents as they worked together to create a variety of summer crafts. The scout leader Rachel, brought 6 cubs to the home who then took the opportunity to show the residents how to stencil butterflies, make cellophane sunflowers and create resin petals.

Fatima, Holmwood Lifestyles lead said “it was wonderful to see the colorful creations and more importantly the meaningful connections that were generated during the visit”. With Kath a resident at the home commenting “I like the children visiting, I’m used to them. I’ve got a lot of children of my own”.

Everyone at the home is looking forward to welcoming the scouts back for more visits and fun in the future.
