Holmwood in Bloom

The residents and team at Holmwood Care Centre in Kidderminster have been enjoying the recent glorious weather and getting out in their garden for Aria in Bloom to rejuvenate and transform their outdoor spaces ready for summer. Previously the residents had planted seeds from the likes of marigolds to sunflowers and now these have started growing they took the opportunity to re-pot them outside as part of a larger flower area for all to enjoy. They also donned their gardening gloves and planted multiple hanging baskets and larger pots with colourful trailing plants to create a range of centre pieces in their garden spaces. One creative centre piece that has formed a focal point is a repurposed pallet mounted with individual flower pots on which can be added to over time, so everyone can be a part of the project.

The home has also begun growing strawberries, which have already started flowering and the chef is looking forward to picking these to include in various sweet treats and desserts over the coming months, I’m sure the residents will also pick one or two as well.

Fatima, Lifestyle Lead commented on the Aria in Bloom project “we have all enjoyed getting involved and the satisfaction of gowing a variety of plants to add colour and new areas to our gardens has given us a lot of satisfaction, we are all looking forward to spending time outdoors in the fresh air in our newly transformed areas over the coming months and summer.”
