Residents get green fingered at Heffle Court

Heffle Court Care Home resident planting a tree with member of staff

The Gardening Club at Heffle Court has made a welcome return to the home this month. As the weather has improved, staff and residents couldn’t wait to get back out into the garden.

As part of the club, residents planted a willow tree in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and we also planted a few sunflowers in support of the Ukraine.

Our residents didn’t mind getting their hands and feet dirty. They said it was so nice being so close to nature. Putting their green fingers to good use engages the residents and helps maintain independence within the home – activity-based care is also a great way to increase socialisation.

Heffle Court has 39 bedrooms, which are comfortable and welcoming and provide a secure, safe environment for our residents. The home provides specialist residential dementia and nursing dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis. To find out more about our home call freephone 0808 223 5510.
