Platinum Jubilee celebrations galore at Frethey House

Residents and staff at Frethey House Care Home started their Platinum Jubilee celebrations with an afternoon garden party. There was music provided by Miss Ivy Belle, a vintage jazz singer and cupcakes supplied by For Heavens Cakes.

It was a pleasure to have the Mayor of Taunton at our home, who kindly helped us plant a very special tree to mark the occasion. This was part of the Queen’s Green Canopy. This is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. It invites people from across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.

Earlier this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This marked her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

The celebrations continued the following day with Chef Paig’s Platinum Jubilee cake taking centre stage at our Royal Quiz afternoon. Residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed this treat and taking part in the quiz. Everyone enjoyed our amazing celebrations and lots of wonderful memories were made!
