The residents and team at Forth Bay Care Home have been busy growing a range of vegetables in their garden for all to enjoy and their first batch of pickled beetroots are ready.
Everyone has been busy planting and maintaining the vegetables and they have been coming along nicely. Growing flowers, fruit and vegetables is something that many people will have enjoyed over the years and for our residents this gives them an opportunity to exercise their green fingers. It also helps them to maintain independence and is perfect for getting some fresh air while sharing stimulating conversations with other residents while they work together.
After picking the first batch of beetroots these were pickled for all to enjoy and the residents can’t wait to see what the Head Chef will make with the other delicious vegetables as they grow and are picked.
