Forth Bay Wear it Pink for October

Forth Bay Care Home resident joining in Wear it Pink Day 2022 to raise money for Breast Cancer Now

The residents and team at Forth Bay Care Home decided to dedicate the month of October to ‘Wear it Pink’ and raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Thousands of people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places to support this cancer charity initiative. It has been going for over 20 years and people have dressed up, baked, quizzed and done all types of sponsored challenges to raise much needed funds.

Even if pink is not your colour, make an exception for this great cause! We have sold pin badges and been holding a cake bake sale every Friday. We also held a ‘guess the bear’s birthday’ and ‘guess how many sweeties in the jar’ competitions. Prizes for the ‘best pink lady or pink man’ were also presented!

Staff and residents had great fun with our pink photo booth, taking photos in their pink hats, t-shirts, entire outfits in some cases! We also had some hilarious props for them to pose with. We would like to thank everyone who took part in our competitions and joined us for one of our cake bake sales. A special thank you goes to Jude, who kindly brought in some cakes a day early, as she wasn’t available
