At Southborough Nursing Home in Surbiton, we understand the importance of supporting residents to maintain links with their local communities. That’s why we play an active part in our community. We hold events throughout the year, and work closely with groups, schools and charities to ensure residents continue to enjoy a rewarding social life, and the chance to make new friends and try new things.
Our aim is to put a focus on the community. We want to boost morale and encourage neighbourly togetherness as well as to improve health and wellbeing in the district. Below are details of our upcoming events:

Care Home Open Week
We’re proud to be celebrating Care Home Open Week! Join us as we host a range of events and activities, showcasing our commitment to providing exceptional care and support to our residents and their loved ones. Everyone is welcome to attend our events. They include:
Date: Monday 16th June
Time: From 2pm
We are delighted to welcome back Tony Boyle on the accordion. Tony plays gentle, relaxing tunes and engages our residents with a fun guessing game around the music – always a calming and enjoyable afternoon.
Date: Tuesday 17th June
Time: From 2pm
We’ll be joined by Alastair Collingwood for an afternoon of lovely piano music and singing. Alastair is a talented local musician keen to introduce himself to our community – and what better time than during Care Home Open Week!
Date: Wednesday 18th June
Time: From 2pm
The ever-popular David McEwan returns! A true one-man band, David plays multiple instruments and leads a lively singalong with our residents and guests – always a joyful experience!
Date: Thursday 19th June – The Gran Finale!
Time: From 2pm
We’re thrilled to have DJ Derek – a much-loved Southborough family member and former professional DJ – back with us to get everyone dancing with his fantastic selection of tunes. It promises to be a lively and memorable afternoon for residents, families and visitors alike!
