Musical week of fun at Dormy House

Dormy house musical week

This week at Dormy House Care Home in Sunningdale, our team and residents enjoyed a musical extravaganza with a variety of entertainment for our residents and their relatives.

As part of our Health and Wellness program, our team invited some talented musicians to join us at our home and raise the roof with some fantastic music.

We kicked off the week with a visit from the wonderful musical duo and a favourite of our residents, Angelo, who bring so much joy to our residents, their relatives and our colleagues. They put on a brilliant show and had everyone up on the dance floor, showing off their moves – some of our residents were even teaching our CRM Pamela how to jive!

There were smiles all around with some of our residents who are less mobile joining in the fun with tambourines and shakers to spur on our dancers!

Pamela and her husband had a great time boogeying away, with Pamela singing Angelo’s praises, “the live entertainment laid on for our loved ones at Dormy House is of a very high standard, I really enjoyed myself when visiting my husband so much that I forgot all track of time and it was so nice to have a little dance with him!”

On Wednesday, we were joined by another star, Rosalind, who put on a showstopper for our National Proms Day celebration, singing music hall songs and famous musical themes.

She warmed up with some classics that are some of our residents’ favourites from activities sessions such as Daisy Daisy and Roll Out The Barrel. It brought so much joy seeing our residents light up and sing along when they knew the words. We all had a great laugh putting our singing voices and dance moves to the test!

Dormy House had a blast this week and can’t thank everyone enough for joining us, with a special shout out to Angelo and Rosalind for gracing our stage and bringing smiles to a lot of faces!
