Recently, Dormy House care home in Sunningdale brought the Notting Hill Carnival experience to our home and celebrated in style.
Our activities team are always looking for an excuse to throw a party and what better than the annual Caribbean celebration we all love. The team went all out to bring the carnival atmosphere to life with colourful decorations, feathery headdresses, and a visit from the talented Billy Clayton.
Billy performed a brilliant medley of Caribbean music and party songs and had everyone up and dancing, with some of our team members from the Caribbean showing us some new dance moves, spurred on by our residents shaking their tambourines and shakers.
Billy also brought some of his own accessories and residents had a great laugh in their rasta hats and dreadlocks!
One of our care assistants pulled a real talent out of her sleeve and wowed us all with her skills in facepainting, decorating our faces with beautiful carnival patterns.
Our carnival day was a huge success and endless fun for all involved. Our residents love to delve into other cultures and had lots of fun celebrating a vibrant culture and fantastic music.
