This month the residents and staff at Denham Manor enjoyed a visit by the team at WildSci animals.
WildSci have developed a range of activities for care homes, which include Animal Therapy. This is a great activity for our residents, as studies have shown that this type of interaction can improve motor skills and joint movement, verbal communication and social engagement.
Animal-assisted therapy is a growing area that uses all types of animals to help people recover or cope better with health problems. It has been proven that contact with animals can help depression, loneliness, boredom and anxiety. Our residents had a wonderful time and loved having a cuddle with the animals.
Denham Manor has 44 bedrooms, with some of the rooms having direct access to three acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. The home provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis.
