Residents and staff at Denham Manor Care Home were joined by relatives and the local vicar from St Mary’s Church in Denham, as well as his assistant and wife for an Alzheimer’s Awareness Day Tea Party.
September was World Alzheimer’s Month and provided an opportunity to raise awareness around, educate and support those living with dementia and the people who help them.
We welcomed singer Talia to the home to entertain our residents with her accordion playing. She was accompanied by our very own carer, Sian, who played a medley of 50 style songs on the piano.
All our residents and people who attended the event stated how lovely all the cakes tasted, especially the one made by our Deputy Home Manager. Our residents also said how incredible the singer was and how they cannot wait for her to come back to Denham Manor to sing for them again.
All the cakes were baked by our team members to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society in the total we raised £41.50.
