Cranmer Court Residents’ Delight at Pet Therapy Visits

Cranmer Court Care Home resident enjoying pet therapy at the home

Residents at Cranmer Court Care Home are always delighted when they welcome a variety of animals to the home. They really love these visits as part of a pet therapy programme.

The last visit saw a number of small animals including rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as a rather well-dressed pony! Our residents thoroughly enjoy these types of visits, and they are always a hit with everyone involved!

Animal-assisted therapy is a growing area that uses all types of animals to help people recover or cope better with health problems. It has been proven that contact with animals can help depression, loneliness, boredom and anxiety. It can also aid in recovery, rehabilitation and help improve mental health and wellbeing. As well as increase motor skills and movement and help improve social skills.

Cranmer Court Care Home provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent or respite basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call freephone 0808 223 5421.
