As we head into the warmer months, it’s the perfect time to get into the garden. At Aria Care we believe in the power of teamwork, which is why we launched our Spring into Summer initiative this May, with a ‘One Team Approach’. We understand the importance of making a great first impression, so we rallied our teams to work together and get ready for the summer.
Both the team and those ‘green-fingered’ residents at Coxhill Manor Care Home are extremely proud of their home and thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in our Aria in Bloom activity.
Some of the team and residents took a trip to a local garden centre in the morning to buy some flowers. We got a selection of fuschia whips, Lobelia Cambridge Blue, Lobelia Crystal Place, Ivy Leaf Geranium, petunias, as well as new square pots and hanging baskets.
All the team got involved on the day, including our activity team, kitchen and hospitality staff, Home Manager, admin, gardeners and SMOs and carers. Some of our nursing team worked hard to make the fishpond blooming beautiful.
Everyone worked together to tidy up the grass and trees, clear the patio areas and terraces, as well as sand and re-stain the garden furniture, plant the flower beds and baskets. Some of our residents planted the pots indoors, whilst others were outside helping plant the hanging baskets and classic window boxes.
We would like to thank everyone involved for all their efforts, including the local community, friends and relatives who joined us on the day.
Aria in Bloom will become a yearly activity that everyone across the company will get involved with, helping our homes prepare for the warmer days ahead. Our residents will then be able to enjoy their outdoor spaces and give them and their visitors a beautiful space to unwind.
