Coxhill Manor Nursing and Residential Home in Chobham recently celebrated two much loved residents as they reached a remarkable 69 years of marriage.

Rob and Irene live together at Coxhill and are beloved members of the home, often seen walking hand in hand and laughing together and have made many friends at the home.

Family, residents and team members gathered in the conservatory for the party, joined by Mayor Sarbie King. After meeting the pair on her first visit to Coxhill, the Mayor was so taken by them and the welcome they gave her that she decided to make an appearance to wish them a happy anniversary.

The team invited harpist, Margaret, to entertain for the afternoon with some 1950s classics and everyone was blown away by her talent.

Rob and Irene said a few words about how they met and how, after 69 years of marriage, they still have eyes only for each other. Rob added, “I’ve been married all these years and I love you more now. Thank you for many years of happiness.” It’s safe to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
