Community joins Coxhill Manor for VE Day tribute

Coxhill Manor VE Day

Residents, team members and families came together at Coxhill Manor in Chobham to commemorate VE Day – a particularly meaningful occasion for many of their residents who lived through the war and remember the day peace was declared.

The day began with the national ceremony led by the royal family, followed by the two-minute silence – an emotional moment of reflection for everyone.

The home was brightly decorated with Union Jack bunting, and the activities team embraced the spirit by dressing in 1940s-style outfits. Residents joined in the fun, donning navy hats and patriotic headwear, and singing along to much-loved wartime songs from the era.

The home welcomed families and members of the community, including their youngest guest, little Holly, who visited straight after school and looked fantastic in her patriotic hat!

It was a wonderful way to bring everyone together and honour a significant day in history that continues to hold great importance for so many in the home.
