Being Silly for a Serious Cause: Red Nose Day Fun at Claydon House
At Aria Care, we believe that providing exceptional care goes hand-in-hand with fostering a sense of community, joy, and purpose. This Red Nose Day, Claydon House residents and team members proved that you are never too old to have a bit of a giggle – especially when it is for such a fantastic cause.
The home was transformed into a sea of scarlet as everyone came together to support Comic Relief’s ‘Red Nose Day’. The day was defined by laughter and creativity, with residents taking the lead in the afternoon’s festivities.
Preparation began with an arts and crafts session where everyone got stuck in, painting and drawing their own bespoke “red noses” to wear. The creativity didn’t stop there; red balloons were inflated and transformed into a cast of comical characters, as residents drew silly faces on them to decorate the lounge.
The afternoon was a wonderful social affair, with the team serving the appropriate quantity of tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep the energy high. Amongst the crumbs and conversation, the real highlight was the spirit of the residents. Valerie, Isobel, Joan, and Mary were at the heart of the fun, sharing that they had a “wonderful time being ridiculous.” For them, the joy of the day was doubled by the knowledge that their antics were helping to raise vital funds for those in need.
Our Wellbeing Coordinator, Becca, was right in the thick of it, sporting her own red nose alongside Valerie, who looked particularly festive in a vibrant wig. From balloon-faced friends to our residents’ hand-crafted masterpieces, the smiles on display truly captured the essence of the Aria Care family.
We are so proud of our residents for their generosity of spirit and their ability to find the fun in every moment. It truly was a case of being “funny for money!”
