Chestnut View Residents Tune In with Daniel Brewerton
Music, memories and meaningful connection have been taking centre stage at Chestnut View, thanks to the wonderful Daniel Brewerton. A familiar face to residents and team members alike, Daniel has been visiting the home for the past five years, sharing his unique blend of live music, reminiscence and creativity.
Daniel works closely with the Chestnut View activities and wellbeing team to deliver a variety of sessions that bring joy, laughter and comfort to residents—whether gathered together in the lounge or relaxing in their rooms. His visits now include the much-loved Residents Radio, a project that captures the voices, stories and poetry of those living at Chestnut View.
Daniel explains:
“I absolutely love coming to Chestnut View and spending time with your wonderful residents. Each time I visit, we alternate between our Heart to Heart (room-visit shows) and our ‘Making of Radio’ poetry recordings. The residents have created some fantastic pieces of art, and it’s always my pleasure to capture and enhance those moments.”
Over the years, Daniel’s sessions have evolved into a rich programme of musical and creative experiences. His Lounge Shows feature live performances of classics from the Rat Pack era and beyond, encouraging reminiscence and sparking conversations through the sensory power of music. His Heart-to-Heart visits ensure that residents who are cared for in bed never miss out, as he brings music and warmth directly to their rooms.
Most recently, Daniel has introduced the Radio Experience—an engaging and interactive session where residents can record their own poetry, stories or personal memories. These recordings create treasured keepsakes for residents, their families and the wider Chestnut View community. A recording of the residents fine endeavours can be listened to below:
This collaboration perfectly reflects Aria Care’s commitment to enriching the lives of those we support—celebrating individuality, nurturing creativity and fostering meaningful connection every day.
