To commemorate International Firefighters Day on the 4th of May, we asked the firefighters from Sutton to join us at Belmont House for a lovely cuppa and some treats to say a special thank you for all the hard work they do risking their lives to save others.
The residents had various questions to ask them, one of them being “how fast do you suit up” and one of the firefighters gave us a demonstration whilst we timed them. Normally it takes 1 minute and he did it in 58 seconds!
The firefighters then gave us a demonstration on how strong the water pressure on the truck is and showed all the equipment inside the fire truck.
