Delightful Aria in Bloom day at Belmont House

Belmont House Aria in Bloom

The residents and colleagues at Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton were joined by relatives and the local community as they came together to spruce up the outdoor spaces as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom.

After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.

We had delightful day as we gathered to plant flowers and transform our gardens. The burst of colours from the new blooms has truly brought the gardens to life, ready for everyone to enjoy this summer. Everyone then enjoyed a BBQ with delicious food and refreshments, much needed after all our hard work.

The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.

Home Manager Arthur Tanare commented on the success of Aria in Bloom, “Thank you to those who helped create more beautiful spaces that our residents and their visitors can cherish. It’s incredible to see how Aria in Bloom has brought everyone together to make such a beautiful change in our community. The support and enthusiasm from everyone involved have truly made a difference in enhancing our outdoor spaces.”

The winning home and runners up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
