We are proud to announce that Sharon Streeter from Belmont House in Sutton has been named the winner of the inaugural Sustainability Award at this year’s Love Laundry Awards! The awards were held at the NEC in Birmingham on 8th October. This new award category for 2025 recognises outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability, particularly through more eco-conscious laundry practices that reduce carbon emissions and protect the planet.
Held annually, the Love Laundry Awards celebrate excellence across the care sector, with the new Sustainability Award launched this year in response to the growing importance of environmentally responsible operations. Sharon stood out among nominees from across the UK, demonstrating exceptional leadership in implementing greener laundry solutions at Belmont House.
Through her tireless efforts over 25 years of service, Sharon has championed innovative, sustainable laundry practices, reducing water and energy usage, minimising waste, and supporting the home’s wider environmental goals. Her passion and dedication have not only had a measurable impact on Belmont House’s carbon footprint, but also inspired colleagues and residents alike. Her work supports dignity in care and infection control, creating a clean and comfortable environment for residents, and embodying care from the heart.
