From Carer to CEO, Aria Care’s Caroline Roberts is shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Social Care Leadership Awards provides an opportunity to showcase senior leadership excellence within the care sector. It is with great pride and excitement that we share the news that our very own Chief Executive Officer, Caroline Roberts has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.

This momentous achievement recognises the impressive career of the Aria Care Chief Executive Officer, Caroline started her career at just 15 years old as a Carer, working her way through the ranks to her first management role at just 26.  Since then she has held roles including Regulatory Inspector, Director of Regulation, Director of Quality and Governance and Group Director of Care and Operations– this vast career has allowed Caroline to build a true understanding of what the sector needs, how important social care is and truly understand what is required to operate a successful care business, ensuring quality comes first.

Caroline is thrilled to be shortlisted; “It has always been a passion of mine to raise the profile of the care sector, and throughout my career I have learnt so much about what is true quality care. I am extremely proud to now lead Aria Care, along with a fantastic team, who I know will make a real difference. I truly would not change the sector I work in, my job isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle and I am dedicated to continuing to make a difference to the lives of the people in our communities and raising the profile of Social Care. This award shortlist is a career highlight and I hope to achieve more and more in the sector we are all passionate about”.

Kelly Howell, Chief People Office at Aria Care explains the difference Caroline has made to the team since joining in 2022.

On 1st December 2022, Aria Care Group Limited acquired operational control of Caring Homes Healthcare Group Limited and subsequently rebranded as Aria. However, this wasn’t just a name change; it was much bigger than that.

From the outset, Caroline quickly embedded herself into the organisation. She was very clear in her vision – that our residents must be at the centre of everything we do and that every single colleague should be enabled to perform their roles effectively, efficiently and to the best of their abilities.

The biggest and most significant change has been culturally.  Caroline quickly assembled a strong leadership team outlining her vision and goals. She was very clear that we needed to be visible, transparent, work as ‘One Team’ and ultimately lead by example by showing that we ‘Care from The Heart’.”

Kelly continued, “Whilst any new leadership appointment can result in some apprehension and nervousness, this was swiftly dampened. Caroline visited all our communities and quickly built-up strong relationships with the teams within those communities. Her extensive knowledge of the care sector and passion for providing the best care shines through every single day – She always listens, will never over-promise and is certainly a woman of integrity. She leads, inspires, and motivates teams through a shared vision that has transformed the organisation. Colleague retention, engagement and communication has improved significantly since Caroline took the helm.

It’s an absolute joy to work with Caroline and be part of Aria’s exciting journey!
