The residents and team at Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common have had a busy week celebrating Care Home Open Week and enjoyed a flower power garden party.
We were joined by family, friends and the local community for our party where everyone was encouraged to wear something with flowers on it.
The party started with a live band playing in the garden, with everyone dancing and enjoying the weather. Local conservative MP John Howell joined us as our guest of honour, getting the chance to meet and chat to our residents and colleagues.
The fun carried on throughout the afternoon finishing with a tombola which had some wonderful prizes including a meal voucher at The Greyhound which is owned by Anthony Worrall Thompson. Other local businesses also donated other prizes, with the star prize being a 90 minute racing experience at Silverstone donated by the Porsche centre in Reading.
At Aria Care we are honoured to be a Founding Patron of Championing Social Care and are actively supporting and participating in this year’s Care Home Open Week, an initiative that connects communities and delivers a positive impact in the social care sector.
Caroline Roberts, CEO, Aria Care, shares, “We are thrilled to be a Founder Patron for Championing Social Care, and to further our ongoing commitment to supporting the social care sector.
We firmly believe that everyone should have access to high-quality care, and we are dedicated to supporting the sector in improving standards and promoting well-being. Our participation in initiatives like Championing Social Care is a testament to this commitment.
Our goal is to leave a lasting impact that will benefit future generations by advocating for the benefits of pursuing a career in the care sector.
Working in care is not just a job, it’s a calling. It requires compassion, dedication, and a true desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Raising awareness about the rewards of a career in care can help attract more people to this fulfilling sector, where they can find purpose in helping others and making a positive impact on society.”
