The residents and team at Abbeycrest Nursing Home mark D-Day and the 80th anniversary with a delicious afternoon tea.
Everyone took the opportunity to pay tribute to the brave veterans who served during World War II.
Our residents were treated to an afternoon tea reminiscent of the street parties of yesteryear. While the cakes and tea were flowing Jackie the entertainer came in and sang some wartime favourites to the residents.
Ethel Fuller a resident at our home is 102 said “i’ve had a lovely time and it reminded me of my husband that fought for his country on the D-Day beaches.”
It was important to everyone that Abbeycrest Nursing Home mark D-Day so that they could show their respects and honour those who served.
