Abbeycrest creates sensory garden for Aria in Bloom

Abbeycrest creates sensory garden for Aria in Bloom

Last week, the team and residents at Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common came together to create a sensory garden for Aria in Bloom.

Inspired by one of their residents who enjoys spending time outdoors but has limited eyesight, the team decided to create a sensory garden in their smaller Dementia garden. By incorporating scented plants, herbs, and flowers, the space has been designed to stimulate the senses and offer a calming experience for all residents to enjoy.

With help from the team, residents, and some family members, they spent the day planting and arranging pots around the garden.

Community Relations Manager Tamena said, “We all had an amazing time, there were plenty of smiles, fun and laughter along with the beautiful sunshine.”
