Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common are delighted to welcome our new Home Manager, Sue Smart, to our team. We celebrated her arrival on the same day as our American Independence Day event with a fun double party to introduce her to our lovely team at Abbeycrest.
Our colleagues dressed up in American themed outfits and our entertainer, Michelle, put on a great show for us, singing various American classics. Our residents and team thoroughly enjoyed, singing along and getting in the American spirit.
Our head chef, Stephane, created a fantastic buffet of American food with tasty fried chicken and burgers as well as spicing it up with Chop Suey, an American Chinese dish. He also made a delicious cake to celebrate Sue joining us and, as a team, we demolished it! We all had a wonderful time getting to know Sue and celebrating the 4th of July festivities, with Sue stating, “in all of my career, I’ve never had such a warm welcome and made to feel at home so quickly!”
